Opening Plenary Brunch
Illuminating Impact
Austin’s own Philip and Donna Berber, founders of A Glimmer of Hope, will illuminate the passion and impact of giving at the opening plenary, Monday, October 11, 11:30 A.M.
The Berbers formed and funded A Glimmer of Hope in 2000, and Barron’s magazine recently named the Berbers among The 25 Best Givers in the world, placing them sixth on the list based on their impact and effectiveness.
Their philanthropy radiates across the globe—A Glimmer of Hope works in Ethiopia, the UK, and their hometown of Austin. A Glimmer of Hope developed an entrepreneurial model to bring clean water, healthcare, education, and microfinance to millions in Ethiopia with 100% of all donations reaching the projects. And since 2003, A Glimmer of Hope has supported Austin nonprofits working with disadvantaged youth and seniors.
Philip will give the opening address, and then both he and Donna will tell their story in an interview that will illuminate the impact that their lives have had on their giving and the impact that their giving has had on the lives of others. Their story will open the way for our learning and networking during the conference and will provide fuel for future inspiration and impact in your own giving.

Philip and Donna Berber will speak at 2010 National Conference Plenary Brunch, Monday, October 11.
